Service Description
5 x 1 hour sessions available to practitioners who have completed Tier 1 training. Tier 2 training provides practitioners with an in-depth understanding of the 5 key aspects of speech, language and communication development and support in babies and young children. Practitioners will have a greater understanding of how these aspects typically develop and will be given opportunities to explore what happens when development is not progressing as expected. Strategies which optimise the development of excellent speech, language and communication skills will be explained and reinforced through practical activities and reflection tasks. Practitioners will be provided with knowledge and tools to identify and support speech, language and communication difficulties. Sessions include video reflection and self directed learning to ensure practitioners are providing excellent interaction opportunities with the children in their setting. As a result of the training you will have an understanding of: *how speech, language and communication skills develop in babies and young children *how to identify children in need of additional support *strategies which optimise the development of excellent speech, language and communication skills *planning for supporting the development of excellent speech, language and communication skills *the development of excellent practitioner skills *the role of practitioners in supporting young children’s communication skills You must attend all 5 sessions.

Cancellation Policy
Please read our updated Terms & Conditions. *********** In the event of cancellation by you, refunds will only be issued if 2 weeks or more notice have been given. If you need to transfer your booking to a different date, this will be at the discretion of the Hub. Where training is split into multiple sessions, if you are unable to attend a session, a cost will be incurred to join on a different date due to the hub not being able to resell the place. As a full space will need to be allocated, this will incur a 50% fee of the cost of the training course. Paediatric First Aid training - Please note that 2 weeks’ notice is required to transfer your booking to another date or to cancel and receive a refund. If you do not attend Day 2 of the Paediatric First Aid training an additional charge of £50.00 will be issued for you to join another date. Any non-attendance with no notice given, will not be refunded, or transferred. In the event we need to cancel a course due to low numbers we will offer alternative dates. Cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as disruptive weather, pandemic or where training is deemed a risk to the delegate, we may have cause to cancel a training course, in these circumstances you will be contacted and booking transferred to the next available date. ***********
